James was born about 1799!Tipperary Ireland and was convicted in 1823 at Clonmel Tipperary County Ireland and sentenced to 7 years transportation

James arrived Sydney aged 24 aboard Isabella on 16 December 1823 with his Indent showing trade " butter maker".

James and John Hand (Mary) were convicted on 26 August 1824 of assault murdering Michael Minton (free settler) on 8 August 1824 at Evan District and sentenced to death.
