Oct 1807 baptism of Phoebe Stirrup in Warrington, Lancs to parents Thomas Stirrup & Mary Cloweth (m. 1799 Runcorn, Cheshire). Thomas was a farm labourer. Phoebe was named after her grandmother.

Apr & Oct 1828 was tried in Salford (Manchester) for stealing using the alias Elizabeth Harrison. 7 years transportation. These were not her first offences.

3 Aug 1829 arrived in Sydney aboard the ship Sovereign. On board she was probably assigned to SA Perry (our new Deputy Surveyor General) to help control his 6 children.

Aug 1829 once landed continued to be assigned to Samuel Perry in William St & latter in Birchgrove House, Birchgrove. ref: Perry Soldier & Surveyor by Oppenheimer

12 Oct 1830 applied for permission to marry Joseph Griffith, of Waterloo, also assigned to Mr Perry. Application withdrawn a few days later as he had tried to stow away on the ship Schnapper.

17 Nov 1833 Death of Amos Date from headstone at Kayuga near Muswellbrook. In a letter to CS to encourage TOL for Phoebe (1834) we learn he died from an "Accidental discharge of a musket"
