Biographies

Ann Jackson is my 4th great grandmother.

Ann was born circa 1779 in Carlisle, Cumbria, England - her death certificate states that she was 87 when she died in 1860 making her birth year 1773. Nothing is known of Ann's parents or siblings.

On 9 January, 1804, Ann was convicted of an unknown felony in Cumberland, England. She was sentenced to 7 years transportation.

Ann departed the United Kingdom approximately July 1805 on the "William Pitt", arriving in Port Jackson on 11th April, 1806 - the voyage taking approximately 9 months.

Ann died on 3rd July, 1860 at the Parramatta District Hospital - cause of Anne's death is stated as "old age and exposure". She was buried on 4th July, 1860 at St. John's Cemetery, Parramatta.
