Biographies

Elizabeth Johnson (alias Taylor) was born c.1810 in the UK.She was convicted of an (as yet unknown) crime 15/4/1830 in Middlesex and sentenced to 7 years transportation to Australia. She sailed aboard the Kains, departing 5/7/1830, arriving in Port Jackson 11/3/1831 along with 119 other female convicts.
Elizabeth married convict John Gilmore at the age of 28 at the Trinity Church, Bathurst 16/3/1838.
Their son Henry John was born 24/1/1839 and christened 10/3/1839 at St James, Sydney.
