Biographies

Elizabeth was born at Whitechapel in 1810 to William and Sarah Beavis.

Elizabeth was convicted of pocketpicking at the Old Bailey on the 18th October 1832 and was sentences to 14 years transportation. She arrived in Hobart on the 30 June 1833.

She married George Reeves in 1836 and in October 1847, three months pregnant, left Launceston for Maitland. Her son, George James Reeves was born at Maitland on the 20th March 1848. Elizabeth's sister Maria Greenland and brother George Beavis were living at Maitland at the time. Elizabeth later returned to Tasmania living near Oatlands and died there on the 13 August 1888.
