Biographies

Occupation was a farmer. Living at Campbells River at time of marriage.
Married and after less than one month, had their first child.
The couple had about six children however as far as I can tell only 1 Allan, survived.
Convicted of aggravated theft in Glasgow on Dec 17 1832 and dispatched on the Waterloo
Ticket of leave 1 July 1841 states that his prisoner number was 33/1605 that the place of trial was Glasgow, Scotland, on Dec 27 1832, with a sentence of 7 years. The prisoner was allowed to remain in the district of Bathurst, on granting of the ticket of leave. Granted April 1837.

Article in Sydney Morning Herald Thursday May 15 1834 , Allan Duncan is a witness to a murder whilst a servant to Robert Cox. At The time of his witnessing the murder he was living at Brisbane Water, Broken Bay. The outcome of this murder case became a legal precedent.
The following extract is from the Victoria Police Gazette, November 3 1854, from the Sydney crime report, 13 October 1854.
"Absconded from the hired service of David Lennord Murdock. Esq. of Killongbutta, near Bathurst, on the 30th September 1854, and suppose to have gone toward Molong. Allan Duncan, a Scotchman, about 40 years of age, sandy hair and whiskers, about 5 feet 8 inches high, when last seen had on a pair of leggins, a frieze top coat, straw hat, riding an old chestnut horse, is a married man with four or five children. A reward of 2l, is offered for the apprehension of the offender. A warrant has been issued by the Bathurst bench, and is now lying in the hands of the Chief Constable".Duncan Allen Edward 29 Jul 1876 61y b. Glasgow Ang, reference from Molong Cemetery.
Further in 7 sept 1870 Allan Duncan was a prisoner in Yass goal and witnessed the death of another prisoner who was said to have died of natural causes. so it seems he was committed for the previous offence?

Death certificate states that children and marriage at time of death unknown. Occupation on death certificate listed as shepherd.
