Biographies

George partnered Peter Scallion (Royal Sovereign 1834) and six others Robert Bingden "Bingham", Joseph Saunders, Richard Jones aka Knight, Samuel Ellis, James Hickey & William Barnes (ships unknown) in bush ranging and shooting murder on 8 May 1839 of Andrew Shandley (Shandley) at Sutton Forest NSW. All were convicted and sentenced to death with Scallion, Carey & Saunders hanged and Hickey, Barnes, Jones and Ellis commuted to life Norfolk Island. George and five others were convicted on 5 November 1839 of bush ranging and the shooting murder of Andred Snandley (Shandley) on 8 May 1839 at Sutton Forest NSw and all sentenced to death.
